We got the name, "Five Critters" when we started Geocaching. That is our team name. Considering we all love the outdoors, hunting, and camping, it seems to be a perfect description!

Playing Cards and Sunday Dinner at Ed & Eliza's

Every Sunday we go to Tommy's parent's house for dinner. We also love to play games, especially Phase 10. We were particularly silly this night. Even Kevin played cards with us!

What we have been up to

I haven’t updated my blog for a while, so I thought I would re-cap some of the things we have been doing since March.

4/18/09: TJ’s first temple trip- TJ took his first temple trip to do baptisms for the dead. Tommy got to go with him as a leader. I can’t believe my son is 12 years old! He is now in middle school! Boy do I feel old!

4/25/09: Relay for Life- For the 4th year, we participated in the Relay for Life. This year was great! Mackenzie danced for part of the entertainment, and we lasted pretty good all night.

4/29/09: TJ Court of Honor- TJ received his 1st Class, 2nd Class, and Tenderfoot Badges. He loves scouting and the outdoors. Right now he is really into survival skills. We keep telling him he would make a great forest ranger someday!

5/4/09: Train Ride from Safford to Pima- Our local chamber of commerce arranged a special train ride from Safford to Bush & Shurtz restaurant in Pima as a fundraiser for some local organizations. We knew Braden would love it!

5/8/09: Our 14th Anniversary in Pine/Strawberry- We stayed at a cabin in Pine, and hiked at Fossil Springs in Strawberry. It was so fun! The cabin was awesome with a big tub (which was nice after a long day of hiking). The hike was hard, but very rewarding when we reached the water. It was a great weekend!

5/14/09: Chuck E. Cheese in Tucson- We found a new psychiatrist for Braden that we like in Tucson, so I told Braden we could go to Chuck E. Cheese on one of our monthly trips. The other kids wanted to go also, so we made a little day trip out of it.

6/7-6/13/09: Mackenzie and I visited my sister, Tamara in Virginia. We loved the beaches and the great weather. There was green everywhere! Mackenzie really loved Water Country USA water park. They had some great rides. I loved the frogmore stew that my sister made for us! It was soooo good!

President's Day at the Duck Ponds

My kids love going to the Graham County Fairgrounds where the duck ponds are. They feed the ducks, fish, and ride their bikes over the bridge. My sister, Tamara, and her family came down for my other sister's weddding. They came with us, along with my Mom and other sister, Rue with her daughter, Camryn. TJ even caught a little fish.

The craziest weekend I have had in a long time!

On February 14th, my oldest sister, Shalee got married. There was also the groundbreaking ceremony for our local Gila Valley Temple. And two days before that, I went on a field trip with Mackenzie to the DeGrazia Museum in Tucson. It was crazy trying to shift from one thing to the next. The DeGrazia Museum was so cool! He was born in Morenci, AZ and moved to Tucson. He was a wonderful artist. It was a fun field trip!

Our tour guide. All the flowers were made from soda cans.

My favorite picture called "Free As the Wind" (the horse one)

The famous "Los Ninos" used by Unicef.

On Friday, we spent the day decorating for the wedding. It seemed like we were not making any progress for the whole morning, but by the end of the day, it looked pretty darn good! On Saturday, I had to wake up early to go help with the ushering for the Gila Valley Temple Groundbreaking. My boss, Mike was in charge of the ushering and he asked me to be his assistant. We had spent the past two weeks preparing for this day. It was pretty cold at 6:00 in the morning with a dress on, but it warmed up nicely. Unfortunately the chairs that were set up the night before were pretty icy and no one wanted to sit in them! After the groundbreaking, it was time to get ready for the wedding. The ceremony was very nice and the reception was fun. My sister from Virginia even came with her two kids and husband. I had my whole family there! Boy was I glad when the weekend was over!

Is it really February?

Usually December goes by fast, but I think January went even faster! This is going to be a crazy month! My oldest sister, Shalee, is getting married on Valentine's Day. The groundbreaking for the Gila Valley Temple is also on the same day. I have been called to help with the ushering and organizing as people arrive at the Groundbreaking ceremony. What a responsibility, but also a great honor! I hope it will all go smoothly. I can't wait to have the temple built right in our backyard! I will be able to drive by it every day as I am going to and from work.

My Occupations!

Maybe I am crazy, but I love all of my jobs! Here is a breakdown of all my occupations:

Secretary, Eastern Arizona College - Small Business Development Center
Office Manager, McCray & McCray Earth Movers
Manager, Fox Storage
Idependent Sales Rep, Avon

They are all part-time, so altogether they almost add up to one full-time job. The last two jobs don't take too much time. I am off on Fridays, because Braden does not go to school on Fridays (he goes to a charter school). I really love secretary, office work because I am good at organizing. I like to feel that I am helping my employers become just a little bit more organized than they were before.

Today I am "33"!

Today is my birthday and I am "33". Since this is my favorite number times 2, I hope this means I will have a great year!
